Family

My mom, Emily, is a former graduate of Georgia Southern University.  She currently teaches 6th grade language arts at a private school.

My dad, Jeff, used to be a farmer.  Currently, he is running his own construction company.

I have 3 beautiful sisters named Sara (age 21), Alex (age 17), and Abby (age 14).

Sara is about to get married (May 19th) and is a 2006 graduate of Mercer University.  She majored in Music and is planning to go to law school soon.  Alex and Abby attend the private school where my mom teaches.  They are both involved in many sports!

"Life is so much smarter than we are, it never moves too quickly, nor does it skip any steps. Life always shows up on time and in time to bless, teach, reward, heal, protect, or guide us. Life always knows exactly what we need, what we are ready for, and when we are prepared to receive it. We are usually so busy looking behind or ahead, we miss the flow of life passing right before our eyes. Fear, anxiety, guilt, and shame fog our vision and cause us to miss the point, the lesson, and the blessings that are present right now. Let us remember that right now is a blessing. When we understand that, we stop second-guessing life." ~Iyanla Vanzant~

"Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets - so love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who don't, and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance - take it. If it changes your life - let it. Nobody said that it would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it "

"As children bring their broken toys,
With tears for us to mend,
I brought my broken dreams to God,
Because He was my friend.
But then, instead of leaving Him in peace to work alone,
I hung around and tried to help,
With ways that were my own.
At last I snatched them back and cried,
"How can you be so slow?"
"My child," He said, "What could I do?
You never did let go."
(LET GO AND LET GOD)

"A southern girl is a girl who knows full well that she can open a door for herself but prefers for the gentleman to do it because it demonstrates a sense of respect. After all, every girl wants to be treated like a princess. We know how to make sweet tea and grits and we pick our battles and fight with the heart of a pitbull while still maintaining grace and elegance. Our mystique is that of the soft-spoken, mild- mannered southern belle who could direct an army, loves her momma and will always be a daddy's girl."

"It is often said that eyes are the windows to the soul. If this is true, then a smile is the doorway." unknown

*“The best thing to give to your enemy is forgiveness; to *an opponent, tolerance; to a friend, your heart; to your child, a good example; to a father, deference; to your mother, conduct that will make her proud of you; to yourself, respect; to all men, charity.

*"Lord grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those people I had to kill because they pissed me off."*

"False friendship, like the ivy, decays and ruins the walls it embraces; but true friendship gives new life and animation to the object it supports."
--Richard Burton
